Villa check-in to first chef dinner workflow
A practical Bali villa timeline from check-in to first chef dinner: arrival windows, light menus, kitchen access, and how the full-day package fits night one.

A smooth path from villa check-in to first chef dinner is a shared timeline: your arrival window, kitchen access, shopping and a menu that matches how tired you will be. With a full-day chef for your stay, arrival-day dinner can sit inside the three-meal package when you book with enough notice and a clear landing time.
This workflow is for hosts who want food ready soon after they put bags down, without inventing same-day bookings or rushing a complex menu after a late flight.
- Share check-in time and flight or road ETA when you book the chef.
- Light first-night menus beat long tasting menus after late arrivals.
- Full-day package: IDR 2,700,000++ a day; groceries at cost with receipts.
- Villa manager contact unlocks gate access and optional pre-arrival prep.
- Allow 3 to 5 days' notice; 50% deposit holds the date.
The arrival-day timeline (typical)
- Before travel: deposit paid, dietary notes sent, arrival window shared.
- Morning of arrival (or day before): shopping for the first menu, with host approval for kitchen access if needed.
- Your check-in: villa briefing, bags down, shower, settle.
- Chef team arrives in the agreed window, not the same minute you open the gate.
- Dinner served to the sit-down time you set, often early on long-travel days.
- Kitchen left tidy; next-day breakfast plan confirmed before the team leaves.
| Arrival pattern | First meal that usually works | Watch-outs |
|---|---|---|
| Afternoon check-in, rested | Plated or family-style dinner | Share sit-down time early |
| Evening flight, late road transfer | Simple supper or shift to breakfast | Avoid six-course ambitions |
| Morning check-in after red-eye | Brunch then light dinner | Naps may move sit-down times |
| Staggered guest arrivals | Flexible family-style service | Tell us the last arrival time |
“The first dinner should feel like relief, not a performance after a long journey.”
What to send us before you fly
- Check-in date and a realistic arrival window (flight number helps if you have it).
- Preferred sit-down time for the first dinner, or permission to suggest one.
- Guest count for night one (it may be smaller than the full-stay peak).
- Allergies and a light-vs-celebratory preference for night one.
- Villa manager or host WhatsApp for gate and kitchen access.
If night one is a celebration proposal or anniversary, say so. We can keep the food calm while still feeling special, or point couples toward a romantic dinner format when that fits better than a stay-chef first night.
Kitchen access and the villa team
Our team cooks in your villa kitchen. On arrival day, fridge space and a working hob matter more than fancy tools. If the villa has a butler or house staff, tell your coordinator so roles do not collide. Our guide on coordinating a chef with a villa butler covers the handoff pattern.
Stay chef package vs a one-off first dinner
If the rest of the stay also needs breakfasts and dinners, book the full-day chef and place arrival dinner inside those three meals. If you only want one special dinner on night one and will eat out after that, catering or a Couples Collection dinner may be the cleaner product. Couples packages for two start from IDR 3,950,000 one total price for two on the live couples offer.
Timing for a typical dinner service is covered in how long a private chef dinner takes.

FAQ
Can the chef cook dinner on check-in day?
Yes, when you book in advance and share your arrival window. We plan shopping and arrival so dinner can land after you settle in, as long as notice and deposit are in place.
How soon after check-in can dinner be served?
It depends on your flight or road arrival, villa access and the menu. Share a realistic arrival window. Light first-night menus are easier than a long tasting menu on a late landing.
What if we land late at night?
Say so early. Many hosts prefer a simple late supper or shift the first chef meal to breakfast next morning. We adjust the three-meal package around that.
Do you need kitchen access before we arrive?
Sometimes yes, for shopping drop-off or prep, when the villa manager agrees. Your coordinator arranges this with the host once dates are confirmed.
What does the first full day cost?
IDR 2,700,000++ for chef and assistant covering three meals. Groceries are extra at cost. Arrival-day dinner can sit inside that package when planned with your coordinator.
