How Many Staff Do You Need?

Event Playbooks
The Villa Dinner (6–14 guests)
One or two waiters, briefed on your chef's menu and dietary notes. Add a sommelier for a pairing dinner, or a bartender for a pre-dinner cocktail hour.
The Cocktail Party (20–60 guests)
One bartender per 30 guests, hosts at the entrance, and waiters circulating with canapés at 1:15. Bar setup is built one hour before guests arrive.
The Wedding (40–150+ guests)
A layered team: senior host for guest flow, waiters at 1:8–10 for the seated dinner, a two-bartender bar team, and an event butler for the couple and VIPs. Book 2+ weeks ahead for teams of 10 or more.
How Booking Works
- Message us on WhatsApp — date, villa location, guest count, service style.
- Get your staffing plan — roles, ratios and a written quote, typically within the hour (07:00–22:00 WITA).
- Confirm with a 50% deposit — your team and date are locked; balance due before the event.
- Briefing — every staff member is briefed on your menu, timeline, dietary notes and villa layout.
- Service — the team arrives early, sets up, serves, and leaves the villa clean.
Booking 3+ days ahead is ideal for teams of 1–4; allow 2+ weeks for large teams or peak season (July–August, December–New Year). Same-day and next-day requests are often possible.
Vetting, Uniforms & Standards
Every myCHEF staff member is background-checked, English-speaking and trained to international standards within our HACCP-certified hospitality operation — the same 50+ person team behind 560+ events served and 12,000+ guests in Bali since 2019. Formal events are served in black-and-white, casual settings in branded attire, custom dress codes on request. If illness ever threatens your booking, we replace the staff member or refund you.
FAQ
How much does it cost to hire villa service staff in Bali? Waiters from IDR 250,000/hour, hosts from IDR 300,000/hour, bartenders from IDR 350,000/hour (all 3-hour minimums). Butlers from IDR 1,200,000/day, sommelier from IDR 1,200,000/dinner, mixology from IDR 1,500,000/session. All rates ++ (11% tax + 10% service).
Is there a minimum booking? Hourly roles carry a 3-hour minimum; waiter bookings start at two waiters. Butler, sommelier and mixology are priced per day, dinner or session.
Can I hire staff without booking catering? Yes — our teams regularly support self-catered events and other caterers.
What do staff wear and bring? Professional uniforms matched to your event's formality, plus all role-specific tools — bar kits for bartenders, service equipment for waiters. Specialty glassware, ice and garnishes are arranged during briefing.
Are your staff vetted and supervised? All staff are background-checked, employed and supervised by myCHEF, and covered by our replacement-or-refund guarantee if anyone cannot make it on the day.
What is the cancellation policy? Cancel 14 or more days before service for a full refund, 7–13 days for a 50% refund; less than 7 days is non-refundable, and the deposit follows the same tiers. Full terms are on our cancellation policy page.
Which areas do you cover? All of Bali — Seminyak, Canggu, Ubud, Uluwatu, Nusa Dua, Jimbaran, Sanur, Berawa and Pererenan. Remote areas may carry a modest travel fee, quoted upfront.
How far ahead should I book? 3+ days for small teams, 2+ weeks for 10+ staff or peak season. Last-minute is frequently possible.
