The Costs Other Quotes Hide
Four line items inflate Bali wedding catering quotes after the fact. Here's the honest version:
1. The "++". Most Bali quotes are shown "++" — plus 11% government tax and 10% service charge. Your proposal always shows the all-in number, so there are no surprises.
2. Banjar (village) function fees. Most Bali villages charge a fee for private events — around USD 300 is market guidance from Bali venue norms, not a myCHEF charge — and some villas add their own event fee or require outside-vendor approval. We identify these for your specific venue during planning.
3. Corkage and drinks. Bringing your own alcohol? Where venues charge corkage, market guidance from Bali venue norms runs USD 35–47 per bottle — on 60 bottles that's a real line item. myCHEF's own published corkage waiver for villa parties is a flat IDR 250,000. Sometimes our full bar service is cheaper. We model both for your guest count.
4. Minimums. Across Bali, set-menu wedding catering commonly carries 20–25 guest minimums. Our buffet formats work from 30 guests; below that, our intimate wedding and private chef formats are usually better value.
How Quoting Works
- Send your date, villa and guest count via WhatsApp — Sofia replies, typically the same day.
- Receive an itemised proposal within 48 hours — menus, staffing, rentals, logistics and the all-in total.
- Refine and taste. Adjust the menu, then confirm it at your pre-event tasting.
- Confirm with a 50% deposit. The balance is due the day before the event; cancellation tiers are written into the proposal.

What is the minimum spend or guest count? Intimate packages start from 10 guests; buffet and live-station formats from 30. Below 20 guests, a private chef dinner format is often the smarter buy — we will tell you honestly which fits.
Are these prices really all-in? The tables show ++ prices (11% government tax + 10% service charge added). Your proposal states one final total — groceries at cost, no markups, no post-booking additions.
Do packages include staff, equipment and cleanup? Yes — chefs, waiters, setup crew, coordinator, mobile kitchen equipment, service ware and full cleanup are included in every package. Rentals (furniture, marquee) and bar stock are itemised separately.
Can we split the weekend into different packages? Yes — welcome dinner, reception and recovery brunch are quoted as separate lines so you can scale each independently. Booking the full weekend with one team usually reduces total staffing cost.
When do we pay? A 50% deposit confirms your date; the balance is due the day before the event. Cancellations 14+ days before receive a full refund, 7–13 days before receive a 50% refund, and under 7 days are non-refundable (see /cancellation policy).
Do you cater dietary and halal weddings? Yes — halal-friendly, vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free and allergy protocols are standard in every package, with separate prep lines where required.
Do packages change for peak season? Per-person package prices don't change by season, but peak dates (July–September, December–January) book 3–10 months out — earlier booking means better menu and tasting flexibility.
What if it rains on an outdoor reception? Every outdoor package includes a wet-weather plan: marquee coordination and an indoor relocation layout agreed before the day.
