How to plan a week of villa meals with a chef in Bali

Plan a week of villa meals in Bali: how the three daily meals work, groceries at cost, a sample seven-day plan, weekly rates and what to send us.

How to plan a week of villa meals with a chef in Bali

A good villa week with a chef starts with three decisions: which meals you want cooked each day, which nights are special, and what everyone eats or avoids. Get those right and the rest is shopping and timing. Before you plan, have a look at our full-day villa chef rates and meal plans, because the whole week is built on that day rate.

This guide shows how the three daily meals work, a sample seven-day plan, what groceries usually cost, and what to send us so your first breakfast is on the table without any back and forth.

TL;DR
  • A full-day chef is one chef and one assistant for the day, IDR 2,700,000++, for about 10 guests.
  • You get three meals a day and choose how to use them: breakfast, lunch, dinner or any mix.
  • Groceries are extra, billed at cost with receipts and no markup.
  • Stay 7 days or more and the weekly rate takes 10% off the day rate. 28 days or more takes 20% off.
  • Send dates, guest count, villa area and dietary needs. A 50% deposit confirms the week.

How do the three daily meals work?

Each chef day includes three meals. They are credits, not a fixed breakfast, lunch and dinner. Most families use breakfast, a light lunch and dinner. Some groups skip lunch because they are out at the beach and ask for a late brunch and a bigger dinner instead.

The minimum booking is one full-day package, and those three meals can be spread over different days. That suits a short stay where you only want a few cooked meals. For a full week, most guests simply book the chef every day.

The chef and assistant are on site for about 12 hours. They shop, cook, serve and leave the kitchen clean before they go.

What does a sample week look like?

Here is a plan we often build for a family or group of friends in a Canggu or Seminyak villa. Treat it as a starting point; every dish can change to suit your group.

Day Breakfast Lunch Dinner
1 Arrival Skipped (late arrival) Light poke bowls and fruit Relaxed welcome dinner, Indonesian sharing plates
2 Eggs your way, fresh juice Salads and grilled fish Italian family-style pasta night
3 Day trip Early breakfast Skipped (out for the day) Late brunch-style dinner, or two dinners on another day
4 Smoothie bowls Nasi campur buffet at the pool Seafood night
5 Pancakes for the children Wraps and soup Balinese night with satay and sambal
6 Indonesian breakfast Light lunch Celebration dinner, plated
7 Departure Big farewell breakfast Packed snacks for the airport Not needed

Two habits make a week work: keep one or two simple nights so the special ones stand out, and tell us early about day trips so the meal credits are used where you want them.

“Plan the special nights first, then let the rest of the week be simple and fresh.”

What do groceries cost for a week?

Groceries are not in the day rate. Your chef buys for your menu at local markets and suppliers and bills them at cost with receipts, with no markup. You see exactly what was spent.

As a rough guide, a dinner for a couple is often IDR 250,000 to 400,000 in groceries, and two meals for a family of six IDR 600,000 to 1,000,000. These are estimates. Imported cheese, wagyu, lobster and similar items are quoted separately, so you can decide night by night.

Wine and other alcohol are bring-your-own. Our team chills and pours.

How much does the chef cost for seven days?

The day rate is IDR 2,700,000++, which is IDR 3,267,000 with 11% tax and 10% service. For stays of 7 days or more the weekly rate takes 10% off the day rate:

Line Per day 7 days
Weekly rate, chef and assistant IDR 2,430,000++ IDR 17,010,000++
With 21% tax and service IDR 2,940,300 IDR 20,582,100
Groceries At cost with receipts

Stays of 28 days or more take 20% off the day rate. The discounts apply to the chef day rate only, not to groceries or extras. For a group of more than about 10 guests, we add an extra assistant and price it in your proposal.

How do you handle dietary needs across a week?

A week is long enough for small problems to become big ones, so we ask for every allergy and preference before the first shop. Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, halal-friendly and children’s meals can all sit in the same week.

  • List allergies by guest name, with how serious each one is.
  • Tell us what the children will reliably eat.
  • Mention anyone who wants lighter food, or more protein for training.
  • Say which cuisines you are most looking forward to, and any you would rather skip.

Can you add a special night for two?

Yes. If a couple in your group wants a romantic evening away from the family table, our Couples Collection starts from IDR 3,950,000 for two, all-in. It is booked separately from the chef week, so tell us the date when you plan.
