Private Halal Chef for Your Villa in Bali
How a private halal chef works at a Bali villa: halal menus from our halal-certified chefs, daily meal plans, groceries at cost and what to ask before booking.

A private halal chef for your villa in Bali is a full-day chef who plans and cooks halal breakfasts, lunches and dinners for your group, so you can eat well without searching for halal restaurants each day. Our page on halal private dining and catering covers the full service. This guide explains how a halal private chef works day to day and what to ask before you book.
If you only need one meal or one celebration, a catering format usually fits better than a full-day chef. Our catering in Bali page lists the formats, and each can be planned around a halal menu.
- A full-day chef cooks your meals at the villa, planned around halal.
- Our halal-certified chefs prepare halal versions of most of our menus.
- Not every dish can be halal, so the menu is confirmed in writing.
- Groceries are bought fresh and charged at cost with receipts.
- For a single dinner, choose catering instead.
How a halal private chef works
Before your stay, you send us a food brief: who is eating, what they enjoy, and that the menu must be halal. The chef proposes menus from dishes that can be prepared halal, you approve them, and the team shops fresh for each meal. On the day, the chef cooks in your villa kitchen, serves and cleans up.
Our full-day private chef is IDR 2,700,000++ per day, with groceries at cost. You choose which meals the chef cooks, and the plan can change during the stay.
| Part of the day | What the chef does |
|---|---|
| Morning | Halal breakfast cooked and served at the villa |
| Midday | Lunch by the pool or a packed lunch for a day trip |
| Evening | Halal dinner, from family style to a seated menu |
| Between meals | Shopping, prep and kitchen cleanup |
Halal menus and cuisines
Most of the cuisines we cook can be prepared halal. The chef tells you which dishes on a menu can be made halal and builds the week around them, so the menu still has variety.
- Indonesian and Balinese-style dishes prepared halal
- Italian, Japanese and grilled menus, where the dishes can be made halal
- Vegetarian dishes that suit the whole group
- Simple dishes for children, also prepared halal
If you are staying a week or longer, you can ask for variety across the days, for example an Indonesian dinner one night and a grilled seafood dinner the next. The chef keeps the halal requirement in every menu and tells you in advance if a dish you ask for cannot be prepared halal, then suggests an alternative.
The best halal chef menu feels like a normal holiday menu: varied, generous and planned around your group.
A typical halal villa week
Most families do not need the chef for every meal. A common pattern is breakfast and dinner at the villa, with lunch out on day trips, plus one bigger dinner for a birthday or a last night together. Tell us the rhythm you want and the chef plans the shopping and the halal menus around it. Groceries are charged at cost with receipts, so you only pay for what is cooked.
What to ask before you book
- Will the chef cooking my meals be halal-certified?
- Which dishes on the proposed menu can be prepared halal?
- Is the halal menu written into the quote?
- Can the stay be alcohol-free, and are drinks optional?
- How are groceries charged?
Want a halal chef for your villa stay?
Send your dates, villa area and guest count, and say that you need halal.
Private chef or catering?
A private chef is for a stay: several meals across one or more days. Catering is for one meal or one event, such as a birthday dinner or a family gathering. For a single halal event, look at villa catering, BBQ catering or plated dinners, all of which can be planned around a halal menu.
Where in Bali
Our chefs travel to villas across the island, including Seminyak, Canggu, Uluwatu and Ubud. Tell us your villa address when you enquire so we can confirm the plan.
